The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, striking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Questers and Planners groups.
Fans can expect learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
